  1. White Roses

In June wild white roses grow in my garden and they gave me the idea to write this song about events that had happened to someone I know.

I nearly left this song off the album, but when I told a friend that It wasn’t going to be included he was shocked and told me that he loved the song when I performed it live and it made him feel quite emotional every time he heard it. So I knew I had to record it and I am now so glad I did!

Lyrics

White Roses

They were married on a classic summers day
She was such a picture with her white rose bouquet
A pure union committed between a bride and groom
Why were those thorns not removed?

White roses in June
Wild Beauty and sweetest perfume
Wishing they would, forever bloom
White Roses in June

Built a house, had 2 kids, and was good to his wife
But the roses grew wild and unbridled
Then she left him for a man on the dark side of town
So he cursed that bush and chopped it down

White roses in June
Wild Beauty and sweetest perfume
Wishing they would, forever bloom
White Roses in June

In the church those flowers they covered his rest
Sad aroma in the air, a fillin' people's heads
And at those pearly gates he could smile once more
Met a fragrant embrace as he had, years before

White roses in June
Wild Beauty and sweetest perfume
Now then for him they'll always bloom
White Roses in June
Now then for him they'll always bloom
White Roses in June
